My Design Philosophy
As a freelance instructional designer, my goal is develop effective, engaging, human-centered instruction that meets the learners' and stakeholders' needs. I incorporate the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) into my practice to facilitate the construction and transfer of new knowledge. My design philosophy stems from evidence-based learning and motivation principles.

-
It is important to apply the learner's prior knowledge to the learning experiences to assist learning and increase motivation (Smith & Ragan, 2005).
-
When incorporating e-learning instruction, it is important to apply Mayer's multimedia principles to reduce cognitive load and ensure that visual and auditory information is processed effectively by the learners.
